SHALLOW SOCIETY

What have we done to deserve this?
Whom is Karma avenging?
How have we become shadows of our former innocence?
Where along the way have we lost our discipline?

Whom do these people see, me or an imitative reflection?
Have i been conformed to such an extent?
That the true me has no chance of Resurrection?
Have i been corrupted beyond repent?

What I'm wearing covers what is underneath, my skin.
Which in turn covers what lies within, melanin,
Which covers what lies beneath, the tissue the naked eye cant see.
This then covers what dwells beneath, 'me'

How can you judge me from the first layer, when i consist of so many
The deep minority and the shallow majority.
